Resumo
While recent reports indicate that Amazon deforestation has declined in the last year under the Lula administration, environmental crimes such as illegal mining, deforestation, and arson continue to proliferate. These occur alongside border crimes such as drug trafficking, timber smuggling, and illegal fishing (Igarapé 2020).
